So, here’s what happened. My best friend was getting married, and I was one of the groomsmen. Everything was going fine until the reception, where I may or may not have had one too many drinks. At some point, the bride’s super-serious, ultra-formal dad made a speech, talking about love, commitment, and “finding the one.”
Drunk me thought it’d be hilarious to shout, “Tell that to your first wife!”
Dead silence. Turns out, nobody at the wedding (including the bride) knew he had a first wife. Except me. Because he was my uncle.
Now the whole family is pissed, my best friend is barely speaking to me, and I have no idea if I just ruined a wedding or exposed a family scandal. So… am I the jerk? You can judge me or tell your stories to laugh together!
